It is now December and as is my custom, I am reviewing the blogs I have posted all year. I am pleased with what I have written as well as what I have accomplished.

In July, I wrote that I needed to give up my nursing job, but that that would be a ways off. Lo and behold, I am not longer working as a nurse. I am now an Insurance Agent/Field Underwriter. Who would have thought it? Certainly not me.

It is a job I never imagined doing, but guess what, I enjoy it and I love the folks I am working with. Mostly because I am working for myself. I shared in the past that I am not an "employee" type person and now I am managing my own business (another one) and loving it and the fact that I am meeting so many folks and I am still helping. I am helping them protect their loved ones, plan for their futures and protect their assets. Life is great and God is good.

WDGP is growing by leaps and bounds and we are about to do some amazing things. I have wanted to assist the Artists not just with promotion and air play but with allowing listeners to purchase and download their music right from the WDGP website. I am please to announce here that is about to happen in a couple of weeks.

Everything is coming up Roses and I thank God for guiding my steps and putting the right people in my path. He is truly amazing and I love him with my whole heart. If you follow this blog, you know I have had my share of changes, trials and tribulations (as we all have) but through it all I have continued to praise and thank God even in the midst the the turbulence.

This is my message and my hope for you. No matter what your going through, keep your faith strong and you praise sincere, Thank God even when what you think are bad things happen and you will come out on the other side Smiling, Happy and Prosperous. Amen!

Wow, time flies. I can't believe that I haven't posted since August and it's now the end of November.

I guess there has been a lot going on. Like the fact that I am no longer working as a nurse. I had been looking for some other way to make money since I have been nursing since 1976. It's a job I loved and it has done right by me. I have not wanted for anything and I was able to raise my children. Yes the nursing profession has served me well. I feel I have helped many people in that realm. Now it is time to move on.

My radio station, WDGP is doing well. More and more folks are making it their place for music. The Independent artists are continuing to submit their new music as well as new artists. I would like to see more business take advantage of our reasonable advertising rates, however, WDGP is growing by leaps and bounds. With a few more Authors sharing their work as well.

I remain on my path and even though I have faced some hardships in the year 2011, the year promises to finish on positive notes.

Now I am planning for 2012. Looking forward to big things, like the launch of my non-profit company, yes I am still working on that. I hope your year ends and begins on a positive note as well. As long as we keep God first in all we do, we can't fail.

Pleasing People?

I have always known, but the fact was recently hammered home to me, that no matter what you do, you cannot please all of the people all the time.

Some of you know that I own an Internet Radio Station. We promote Independent Artists by only playing music from them by them and we do not charge them for this service. However, we do charge them if they want to have their work in heavy rotation (our charge is nominal compared to other stations). But I digress.

I have used a service for submissions since I started the station. This is a service that I feel protects the Artist and their work. When I signed up to use them, it were free for Artists to submit to my site and in the 18 months WDGP has been in existence, I have never had 1 Artist complain about them, until now. I don’t know if this person cannot read, has low intelligence, thinks the world owes them something or is just a miserable bitter person.

This person, supposedly an Artist, sent me an email that said

“No you don’t charge to play the music, you just send people to a submission site that does.”

That was all. When I read it I became concerned, since no one else had mentioned this to me before. I shot off an email to this person, giving them another way to get their music to me. (I got no response.)

I thought maybe the submission site had changed their terms on me and since I hadn’t received any notice of change in service, I went to the source. There were no changes to the terms of use so I called them. No nothing had changed. Now I was a bit disturbed.

Perhaps this person was just a bit confused. I sent another email, explaining that they were wrong, the service does not charge people to submit to my station, however, they do charge if you want to submit to other stations as well. They offer different packages at different prices, depending on how many stations the person wants to submit to.

I think this is fair. They do the work for you, keep track of which stations accept your music and send you emails for your own records. It is only fair that they be compensated. I invited the person to submit their music, if it was up to par, for consideration. You see I was now suspicious of the motive in sending the email in the first place. I had gone above and beyond, offering this person a direct link to me to submit, with no response at all.

It seems my suspicions were correct, judging by the response I got to the last email, saying that it was strange that I had to check with the service and they didn’t have time to sort through such a confusing site to find a free way to submit and no, they would not be submitting to my station. BIG lost for me right? NOT! Hundreds of Artists have had no trouble finding out how to submit to WDGP. The proof is in the submissions I have received.

But it is funny how one adverse response can give you pause. Am I not clear, do I need to change something in my print? I have spoken to several folks about this and they all say to just let it go, I want to, but this person is out there possibly spreading negativity about my station or about me or about the service I am using. I am told that they can’t do me any harm since I am established and have many Artists that would disagree with this person’s negative reaction. Still, it bothers me, so I decided to write about since there is really nothing else I can do and then let it go. Am I correct that this is just bitter person, maybe not even an Artist, just someone with nothing better to do then aggravate me? What say you?

In God’s Time, Not Mine

I had every intention of writing a blog today, but little did I know that I’d have a totally different reason for writing it than I originally intended. That first reason will have to wait for another day.

Those of you that know me or follow my blog, know that I have a deep faith that God directs my steps and as such, I have to move my feet to get the blessings he bestows.

You also know that I am a supporter of multiple streams of income. In fact, if it were not for multiple streams of income, I would not have survived the last 3 years since I have not been able to rely on any “job” for financial security. I would also go as far as to say that those multiple streams allowed me to stand my ground when employers wanted me to do strange things like produce more work for less pay, and longer hours without compensation. I was able to say no even though I ran the risk of being let go so someone with less backbone and integrity could take my position and do the employer’s bidding just to keep a “job”. Honestly, I have never been that person; I have always stood up for me.

It one reason I work with temp agencies, they allow me some flexibility in scheduling and I never have to stay with any particular company. I like being able to try them out before making a long term commitment.

This is the reason I decided to take a temp position when my last job ended in February.

In actuality, this particular agency found me via the Internet, (I love the Internet) so I took what was to be a six week assignment. As it turned out, it was a great working environment. The staff was friendly, welcoming, capable and cohesive. This was my dream “job” environment. I had a Director of Nursing who understood the job I was hired to do and did not put an overload of nonessential duties on her MDS staff. My co-worker was a person with a similar work history and we had worked at a number of the same facilities. Beyond that we grew up in the same neighborhood and knew some of the same people. Even though I was only contracted for 6 weeks, the job lasted for 3 months. The administrator at the time told me that he had made a deal with the agency that when I had worked a particular number of days, that he could offer me a full time position (with benefits) and that he was waiting for that commitment to end. I was happy and the staff wanted me to stay, at least that is what they told me, and what they told the administrator. It was wonderful, and if you believe in adages, it was too good to last.

The first thing that happened was the best DON I had ever had the privilege to know left the company. Then, one morning the former regional rep stopped by morning meeting to inform the staff that he was moving up in the company and a new person was taking his place. I didn’t know the person leaving or the person taking his spot , of course, but some of the other staff knew the new person and they were not at all happy about this change and as a result, people started resigning and just like that, the perfect team disintegrated.

Then there’s me. I have never been one to run from change so I just bided my time. I went to work every day and did my best, as I always do. I felt the tide shifting though and I wanted to alert my agency so they could start looking for a new placement but every time I called then, I got a recording, and although I left a couple of messages that I wanted to talk to someone, I did not get a return call, besides, it would have been difficult to speak freely at the work site. I made a promise to myself to call and be sure to speak to someone on Monday.

Now, yesterday I got an email from a guy I recently met online. He wanted to speak to me about a joint venture. He left a number and I set a time to call him. Just as we said our hellos, I got a call waiting tone. I excused myself and when I answered I got the message that the contract was over and I should not report to work on Monday (tomorrow). Although I wasn’t shocked or anything, I was surprised they did it today and did not tell on Friday that the contract was over so I could have taken all my belongings with me.

The point of this story is, I was just about to talk to this guy about his opportunity and I lost my income. It is so true that God never closes a door without opening a window. I am working on something as I told you in the last entry but I need income now and I will need income to fund my next venture and this opportunity presented to me today just might fill both pots. I have been given the guidance and the answer even before I had the question. I am sharing this just to help impress upon you that God is a good and mighty presence. He supplies all our needs and he has never failed me yet, Amen.

I am more confident than ever that I am on my correct path. I am so overjoyed at this moment. Folks who don’t know God will probably say, “What overjoyed, she’s mad, no job and she’s overjoyed.” But I know those of you who do know God can understand. He’s clearing the way for me to reach my finish line. Amen, Amen, and Amen. So please no matter what you are going through, trust God to know what move to make on your behalf and remain ready to move your feet when the time comes.

We Go Through Changes, Changes We Go Through

I have had so much on my mind lately. The last 3 years have been so full of change. That is truly the one thing that has been constant, Change. I am born under the sign of Taurus and as such, I like routine. Yes I like to shake things up a bit at times, but I’m comfortable with routine. Needless to say, it’s been a trying time for me, but I am also a survivor, more than that I am a conqueror. My faith keeps me moving forward.

The bright shining star through it all has been WDGP. I love managing this station and being a place for Independent Artists to shine. I am meeting some wonder, talented and down to earth people. I love what I’m doing and folks are taking notice. I have plans to expand the WDGP reach. What I mean by that isn’t about how far we reach, because we are heard all over the world and that in and of itself is a blessing, but what I mean is that we are going to expand into areas other than broadcasting. This will be a good change, a sweet change because we will be helping more people, especially the children. I am so ready for that change.

I also hope to retire from the nursing field completely, although that will take a while yet. I am working on it diligently. You know I have to move my feet. You see, my job situation has been the biggest part of all the changes. I can’t seem to get settled in a job, maybe because I don’t want one. It makes me feel like a slave. Having a job means someone else owns my time. I want it back, I must have it back. I have so much to do, but again, it is all in God’s time and as long as I stay the course and remain on my path, it will all work out just as it’s supposed to.

I guess what I am saying is that in order to be fulfilled I have to continue through all the changes, trials and tribulations until I get to my perfect place. I will continue to ask for God’s guidance and His grace and be ever so thankful for both. I will keep pushing, keep striving because I am on a mission. I can’t share much about it right now but those who know me know, I mean business and I’m about business. Trust and believe, it’s all in the making. Keep your eye on me, better still, join me. Let’s go!

Born on May 16

Yes my birthday or earth day as some call it, is May 16th. As usual, my birthday brings up questions. Am I in a better place than I was a year ago? Am I making progress as I planned a year ago? What can I change about my environment, my thinking, my planning, about myself, that will improve the bottom line? These are some of the questions I ponder and these spark others and answer spark other questions and answers and then I realize that I am still on my path and that there are no wrong answers as long as I listen to my intuition.

I do follow star signs and I found an interesting post about the characteristics of folks born on May 16th. Admittedly, most, if not all of these can be attributed to folks born on other days, but, when I read them I saw myself. My question to you (those reading that know me) is do you see me when you read this?

"Tauruses born on May 16 have buoyant and fascinating personalities in matters of self-expression. They have their own view of life and their own style. They can seem argumentative because they enjoy exchanging opinions with others.

There is a special appealing aura about May 16 individuals. Friends are drawn to their eccentric persona and their grace and charm. Novemeber Again

WOW, it's just six days till Thanksgiving Day and 36 days until Christmas. It's been an exciting year for me and WDGPradio.com. As you may remember, we launched on January 28 of this year. We have collected many listeners, friends and artist. We have gotten support from sponsors and artist and our Alexa ranking continues to improve. We are encouraged by our progress and excited about our future. 2011 promises to bring more excitement, more networking, more collaborations and more success for WDGP and those involved with WDGP.

Setup For My Success

I have certainly been challenged lately, I know it is true that when you are about to have your breakthrough, all types of things tend to happen, just to throw you off your game. I know that I am near to my breakthrough because there are obstacles being thrown at me and mine all week. The bright spot is that WDGPradio.com has gone from a rank of nearly 4 million to 500,887 in the world according to the three-month Alexa traffic rankings. This is just since February 6, 2010. This is the date I signed up with Alexa.com

God is so good. He always sends you the signs to stay the course. Let me tell about 3 things that happened to me in the last week. First thing, someone hacked one of my accounts and stole almost $400.00. That didn't work out for them, because the fraud attempt was caught and and my money has been returned, of course, it was at an inconvenience to myself. Then I thought something had happened to my daughter, but Thank God she was alright. This led to the most serious assault, the incident from my daughter led to problems at work. This was purely the Devil at work.

Now, as I said, God sends signs, we just have to recognize them. Today when I got home from work, I was checking my emails and I saw I had one from Willie Jolly inviting me to watch him on TBN this evening. It stated that it was the first time he had been on TBN and that it was rebroadcast from a previous showing. It stated that the show would come on at 5 pm. It was a few moments after 6 pm when I read the email. I really enjoy listening to Mr Jolly speak, he is always positive and motivating to me. I checked my local listings thinking that it might start at 6 in this area, not really knowing where this email originated. It turned out that the show did start at 5 pm here too, but Willie Jolly was still speaking. He testified to his past and then spoke of his present. He gave God the glory for his accomplishments. He spoke confidently about the future. Giving many antidotes of persons he had met, interviewed and such. Everything he said spoke directly to me.

After the show concluded, I began to think about my vision for my company. I am more determined then ever to succeed. I have big plans and they are beginning to shape up. I know it is because I got out of the way and God do his will in my life. I am so thankful and appreciative for his fulfilling a dream I didn't even know I had. I am glad that I trust him to guide me all the way to my goals. Even if I lose my job, which might happen, I know I am focused on the prize. I will bee all I desire and more. I will soar to even greater heights then I can even imagine. Because He Lives I can achieve.

Yes, today is Sunday, this is the day set aside to enjoy, give thanks and praise and prepare for the upcoming week. Personally, I think these things should be done on a daily basis. It is so important to stay grounded and this process helps so much in that regard. If you stop each day to count your blessings and then think about how you can be a blessing to someone else, there is no way for you to have a "bad" day. Of course, there will always be obstacles in your way. This will happen regardless of your spirituality, however, your connection to your higher power will see you through. If you don't have and nourish that connection, you will have those "bad" days, weeks and months. If you do give your praise and thanks even in the midst of the storms, you will flourish.

You need not take my word for it. Just look around you. Everyone knows at least one person that always has a smile, doesn't complain and never seems to get distressed over anything. If you'd care to inspect closer, you will find that they do have the same types of concerns as everyone else, the difference is that they don't sit around and cry about it. They take it their higher power and and lay it down, They have the attitude that is will all be taken care of and in the end, it is. They know that they are protected and insulated from the problems of this world.

There is a way that you can test this strength for yourself. Give it 30 days. Every morning when you get up, give praise for the day. Pray sincerely for God's grace, ask for His guidance through your day. Ask Him to open your mind and to help you find ways to bless others. Then you tell me in 30 days how you feel. I expect that you will have a new lease on life, that the little things that used to cause you so much grief will hardly be given a second thought, all those obstacles will still be there, but, you will navigate over, under, around and sometimes through them. Your mind will be clearer and you will be able to focus on living the wonderful life God has given you. Try it for yourself and see.

My Thoughts For Today

All day I have been thinking , thinking about, well, everything. I am always talking about not putting your all your eggs in one basket. I am so right about that, 2009 has been a hard year for me. I was laid off twice. I am so blessed to have had the foresight to have built multiple streams of income. If you haven't at least started, take it from me, time is being wasted.

If you need a place to start, check out the Internet Marketer's Network. This is a business social network where you can review several different opportunities and find out more about them before you invest a dime.
I advise you to do your homework and be sure an opportunity is sound and you won't be stuck paying monthly fees and not making any profit. Of course you will have to work a bit before you start making money, but if it's been 5 or 6 months and your still in hole,it's time to try something else.

One of business models I use is Strong Future International. SFI is a great way to build multiple streams of income, even though they come together into 1 monthly payment. The best things about this company are:

1) They give you step by step instruction on how to become a success.

2) The information they share works for SFI and just about any other business you maybe involved in.

Of course you understand that you can not make money without spending money, however, SFI give you tips to fit any budget. When I started with them in April of 2008, I had no budget to speak of. Since I did not have an advertising budget, I used all the free tips. This meant that I had to use more of my time to post ads and blogs all over the Internet. As soon as I could I brought business cards and doled those out to everyone I came in contact with and I even included them in correspondence. I want to let you know that I have been involved with many organizations, but SFI is the first company that paid me within 30 days of joining. SFI isn't the first company I tried, but they are the company I have been with the longest and they are the only company that I am still involved with to date. I do my own thing, but stick with SFI because they continue to add more ways to build my income and I love seeing those direct deposits hitting my checking account every month.

Of course this is my experience, and that's not to say it will be your experience. However, you will get out of it exactly what you put in. These are my thoughts alone. They are not promoted by the company in anyway, but I do invite you to check it out for yourself.

I have always believed and shared that each of us has a path to follow and if we follow that path we can not fail. Since I have put that into practice, it has been an amazing journey. I started out as a blogtalk radio host and then went on to have a show on Internet Radio and from there to having my own 24 hour, 365 days a year Internet Radio Station.. Ah, the satisfaction of knowing that I am helping so many others is sometimes overwhelming but, it makes all my efforts worthwhile.

I can truly say I love what I do. The fantastic thing is I didn't chose to do it, rather it was chosen for me. I am always talking about following your path, the one that God created for you even before your parents thought of you. I have found that doing so opens up a continuous stream of blessings. Yes God is GOOD All the time.

As you regular readers know, in addition to blogtalk radio, I started a new show Conversations on WDKK radio. Now I am pleased to announce that Conversations is moving to it's own new Internet radio station, Thanks to WDKK founder DA Williams. Praise God for putting such wonderful people in my path. The new station WDGP radio, opens a whole new world for me and will allow me to helps bu producing quailty programing and offering an economical way to help others advertise their business and services.

I am sitting on threshold of my new beginning. I excited, cautious, and determined to obtain my goals this year. I feel God is with me, how can I fail? I feel cautiously triumphant. I realize that obstacles will come, but if I keep a level head and listen to my answer, I know I will make it. I pray the same is also true for you. I will assist in any I can, and will direct you to others who might be able to when I can't.
Things are flowing right along. I regret that I will not be able to provide Online University to The Internet Marketers Network membership just yet, it is not an idea I am giving up on. I simply have to put it on the back burner for now.
I am offering to Internet Marketers Network members another way to advertise. I will be offering rotating banners on the homepage of the network, (Which is the only page on the network viewable and search-able by the public.) which is submitted to hundreds of search engines. This means increased exposure for you. More details will be posted on the Network soon.
I am also involved in a JV with my good friend and partner Glenn Gordon (GG). If you are not aware, GG is a musician, composer, arranger, independent record label owner and inventor. He is an intelligent and wise businessman and I could not have constructed a better partner (and he's good looking too ladies). I do feature his band on Conversations.

At any rate, we have a great project in the works and I will be announcing that within the next 2 weeks on my Conversations Show.

Of course, Internet Marketers Blogtalk Radio Show is well into it's second year, I can hardly believe it, and it has become a great resource to those who are investigating starting their own business and those who have already done so but still that little push to move forward. Last night was my second broadcast of Conversations on WDKK radio. It was a rewarding experience, but was not without it's problems. It appears that there is a problem with being able to hear my guests during the interview. I thought we had the problem fixed during the first interview of the evening but the volume on the guests responses withered away. This means that I have done 2 great shows but I have no record of them and this in and of itself sucks.

That being said, the sound of my broadcast is crisp and clean, which is wonderful since I play a lot of music during the show. I love the drop in style of my show. I am meeting some wonderful people and lucrative contacts. God has led down the right path and there is much more to come. God's Blessings never stop coming. I am so in awe of his mighty power. I just finished my last live broadcast at Blogtalk. I am so pleased with the outcome even though there were the still a couple of problems, a staple with blogtalk these days, but the show went well overall. My guest were Reggie Hargis - guitar and Jimmy Brown - Horns from Brick. It was truly and honor for me to be interviewing members from a group whose music I grew up listening to. Better still was them telling me that they want to work with me on something. Oh My God! I am well past excited. They are also going to work with GG and myself on our pet project which is educating people, in particular the youth on how to do their own copyrights, start their own publishing companies and their own record labels. I always wanted to be in the entertainment business so this is the closest I'm gonna get at this stage of the game. I am also looking forward to the start of my new Internet Radio show. CONVERSATIONS. I will be interviewing and promoting independent artists as well as some of the old school greats from time to time. I hope you will join us and become a loyal listener. Where Is This All Headed?

I'm not sure but I'm enjoying the ride. This is a beautiful morning. My weekend was calm, I got to spend time with my Grandkids yesterday. It was fun, but, they did wear me out. :-)
I got something going with my Business Partner we have some exciting things in the works! Things are moving ahead with my import/export business, there is so much to be done before I can get down to the business itself.
Everything is moving along nicely. I have big plans for the future. I am successful because I believe it to be so. God said and I claim it.
This is what we must do, Believe it, Claim it, make it happen.
Things are happening so fast that I'm dizzy with excitement. All my years of hard work is really beginning to pay off.
I have been producing some great shows lately, I had Dennis "Lucky" Taylor on and he was awesome. There was also the interview I did with Kamal Imani he and the cast from his movie In The Attic were so full of energy, I loved doing those shows and I have more on the horizon. On the 31st of this month I will be interviewing one of music's legends. I am sure if you know anything about music, you know at Brick. They will be on the show talking about their past successes and what their up to now. I hope you will join us.

Changing My Song

It seems I am able to keep my spirit up while I'm going through, but I am human and I do have those moments of doubt. Today was one of those days. At lease it was until I opened an email from Joel Osteen. It was titled Change Your Song and referenced

"Unto You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; for God is my Defense, my Fortress, and High Tower, the God Who shows me mercy and steadfast love" (Psalm 59:17, AMP)

Joel went on to say,

Notice, in David's time of need, he wasn't sitting around having a pity party and complaining. He decided to sing about the greatness of God. He was saying in effect, "My enemies may be powerful, but I know my God is all powerful. My obstacles may be high, but I know my God is the Most High." He wasn't talking to God about how big his problems were; he was talking to his problems about how big his God was!

Do you need to change your song today? Instead of complaining and thinking about what you're not, start thanking God for what you are becoming. Just like David, stay in faith and sing to the Lord knowing that He's going to complete what He's started in you.

Even though I was really complaining, just feeling a little down about my situation, this message touched me and I instantly began to thank God for where I am and where He is directing me to go. Guess what, I feel so much better now.

My God is is an Awesome God, yes He is Praise Him!

Even though we know we are well provided for, things and circumstances can get us down. We must praise Him through our circumstance. We have to rise above it all and keep our eyes on the prize.

God's Promise

My God is so good, All The Time. I thank him for journey and the Blessings. I am learning so much. I am meeting so many wonderful, smart and encouraging people. My Blogtalk show is going so well that I am having folks approach me to be on it. It is all due to me continuing to follow the path that God has planned for me. I always know which way to go at the fork in the road if I listen to that inner voice he gave me. I am just so happy today. I was laid off from my good paying job on June 28 2009. Some people might look upon this as a bad thing, but I had been praying on this thing for about 8 months. It seemed to me that the job was in my way (God's Way). I never asked to keep it or to lose it, I just told God to fix it, whichever way it went. So, when I was called to office, I was not surprised and when I was given the news, I smiled because I had been given my answer. I need to focus on the plan and follow the path. Luckily, I had some money in the bank and even though that balance is shrinking way to fast for my comfort, I remain faithful that God has my back. I asked and He answered and I am moving my feet. Just yesterday, I completed negotiations with my friend and new business partner, Glenn Gordon. I am so happy that God allowed our paths to cross. He has been a blessing and an inspiration. He introduced me to The System Within, which has allowed to meet some totally awesome people, and he said to me last evening, "Forget about a job, we are about to do some things..." There is no way you can tell me that there is no God, He proves himself to me each and every moment of each and everyday. I will be making an offical announcement of my next venture, and you know it will be something that helps other people. That's all I know how to do, and that is why God blesses me so richly. Keep me in your prayers, and stay encouraged in your own endeavors. The Best is Yet to Come. Amen

Gratefulness

Today's blog entry is different from other blogs I have written. I am writing abut my gratefulness. My gratefulness to God and the universe.I always felt that I would come into my own in the later years of my life. Even when I prayed to God to just let me lie to see my children grow up when I had my early bout with the big Ca, I felt that there was something more in store for me. I am now standing on that threshold. I am listening, I am focused, I am ready. I am very fortunate to have been introduced to The System Within. I am thankful that God allowed Mr Glenn Gordon to cross my path. He has been an encouragement and a Godsend of knowledge and information. It is true that a little kindness can ripple into a wondrous event. I am not able to share with you at this point, but, keep your eyes on me. I don't want you to miss it. Friday night I went to see Danny Williams preform. He was marvelous. His set flowed effortlessly and everyone seemed to enjoy him and his antics. Although we had some technical difficulties, I think the show went well. Look for a few subtle changes in the IMBTR format in the near future. Empowering Yourself Through Entrpreneurship

This has been a good week. God is truly blessing. Last Saturday, I had the honor of speaking during my church's Women's Day Anniversary Workshop I spoke on the Topic of Empowering Yourself Through Entrepreneurship. It was quite well received and I seemed to have everyone's attention. When I was done I had several questions from the audience. All in all I was very satisfied that I had inspired and encouraged someone to start the journey of living their dreams. I also offered my assistance to anyone that requests it. As I always say if at the end of the day I can say I helped someone, well it was a good day. Later that day I had my usual interview on Internet Marketers BTR show. Because I had been busy all day I had not had a chance to speak to my scheduled guest, as I usually do. Wouldn't you know that this would be the day when there would e a problem? At any rate my guest did not show up but I was able to save the show by discussing what I had just share with the workshop participants. Then what you know a gentleman I met on BlackWomenConnect called in to the show apologizing for calling in late. Wow, can you imagine that? He said he had made himself a note because he had another meeting but he wanted to be sure to participate in the show. Isn't God awesome? It turned out that he is a writer, who wrote a book of Poetry called Love is..a Beautiful Black Woman. God sent him to save the show. I invited him to return to discuss his book and his struggles in greater detail. All in all it was a great day. I am sharing this to show that when your heart is right, things will work out, even when they don't work out as planned. We need to not be so rigid in our thinking and our desires that we can not figure out how to make the best of whatever situations we find ourselves in in life. Let us remain open to receive the blessings that will be bestowed upon us.

Growth

Today I am so thankful to God for allowing me to find the thing I love to do. I love doing our BTR show. I am meeting so many wonderful people who also enjoy helping others. I hope this will be infectious, Every time some one helps a person that person helps someone else. How awesome this world would be. I have some fantastic guests lined up for the summer. I am so looking forward to sharing them with the listeners. I am sure someone will be blessed by each and every show. I am having that tingling feeling, the one that let's me know I am doing it correctly. May God continue to bless my pursuits and continue to allow me to help. What's on My Mind

Yesterday's Show featured the Sons of Harmony. It was a good show with some old school gospel music. I really enjoyed it and i will be purchasing the CD when it becomes available. Tonight I will be assisting my brother Sylver with his show The Sylver Show he will be interviewing Mr. Brandon Trainer of the Raleigh Black Chamber of Commerce. I am sure it will be an informative one. It is my goal to spotlight as many of the businesses, services and products of the Internet Marketers members as I can. It is my duty to get them to participate. I am trying to get them to avail themselves of this free publicity. One would think I am offering them instant death instead. I guess it is hard for people to believe that anyone wants to help just for the sake of helping. It's funny that although I have had some members take advantage of my offer, It has mostly been those that I know from other places who appear as guest on my show. I am going to make one more offer to my membership and then I will leave it alone and focus on the many other people who are willing to accept my help. I remain motivated to help those I can.

I know this is late but I have been having some personal situations happening. However, I do have a bit to share. Last weekend was a very good one for me on a personal note. I was interviewed by two of my SHE-ROS, Katgurl and Nita on Saturday night. They asked some great questions. I could have gone into more detail but I knew that there was another guest and I wanted to to give him equal time, but, he didn't show up due to personal reasons and it turned out I could have elaborated more but It was all good. They asked my sister, Ms Felecia to speak and speak she did. I find her so inspiring. When I was done with the interview I was so pumped up. It was very well received. It felt good to share with the listeners and it didn't hurt that I had a few fans in the chat room. It always amazes me that I can just go through life doing my thing and touch so many people on such an intimate level. I don't know about you but I am really enjoying this networking thing. Which reminds me. I had a pretty good show myself. I got to interview Kevin Anthony, Comedian. I gotta admit, I was a little nervous at first. You can never be sure what a Comedian will say. Kevin was cool though. a real down to earth guy. He invited me to a pool party the weekend prior to the show and I got to see that he's just a "Regular" guy. He takes his humor straight from life in the style of Richard Pryor but He is his own man. This Saturday, June 6th I get to talk with some of the members of Sons of Harmony. We'll share some good ole inspirational music and talk about Their Ministry. I hope you can join us this Saturday and every Saturday 4pm - 5pm est. I am thinking of chaging the format just a slightly. The Last Saturday of every month will be a Chill with Comedy Show. At least as long as I can find guest to join me. We;ll see how it goes. Vacation

I was suppose to go on vacation from May 14th - May-20th. I went but I got ill on the 9th and was still a little under the weather but I went never the less, as my sisters wanted to celebrate my birthday (May 16th) and we all needed a break. I think to help keep your sanity you should take at least a three day break from work every 3 to four months and a real vacation 7 or more days at least once a year. Following that logic I was definitely overdue since I had not taken any time off since July 2008. This was a good time for a break, being a referring travel agent came in handy as I was able to book a 7 day, 6 night stay for just $326.33 per person. We went to South Beach and stayed in a hotel right on the beach in the heart of all activities. It was wonderful and the best thing is that I will get a 60% commission since I booked the whole thing through my own booking engine. National Nurse's Week

For those of you who might not know I am a Nurse and today, where I practice we had a Nurse Day celebration. It was a beautiful affair. The guest speaker was Karen Scipio-Skinner, ED-BON. Her comments were inspiring, encouraging and humorous. She encouraged us to get back to caring not just for our patients but for ourselves as well. We must all take time to smell the roses. I left the program refreshed and focused. I want to take this opportunity to encourage those studying in the field and those contemplating the profession. Come on we need you. There is currently a nursing shortage and you will help fill the void, and to congratulate the millions of Nurses, CNAs, GNAs and other support staff on a job well done and to encourage you to continue caring for the masses and take care of yourselves...society needs you, the unsung Heroes of the medical profession.

Blue Sky Thinking

Today on Blogtalk Radio our guest was Daniel Jingwa. He is author of the book "Blue Sky Thinking" and the founder of Happy Energy Inc Seminars. I first met Daniel when I went to work at an area nursing home. Right away I was drawn to his spirit. He practices what he preaches. He has always been one of the most positive people I have ever met. He more than deserves his success. During the broadcast he shared information about how and why he became an author and started the Happy Energy Inc Seminar company. There was a problem during the last eight minutes of the broadcast and I lost my connection, luckily, there was less than 8 minutes left in the show. When called in again, I was surprised to see that all the participants in the chat room were still there. I did my thank yous and started the closing music. I then discovered that there were two people still on the line. after the show had stopped streaming I asked if the 2 people wanted to have a word and one of them was Daniel Jingwa, the other person was my sister, Sandy. We had a lovely conversation. I am not sure if that conversation made it into the archived show since I had an Internet problem as well and had to log on again but we never lost our connection to each other. I hope the conversation did make it to the archived show because it was so positive. I believe that if i help just one person, I have been successful. We definitely create our own realities by bwhat we think and how we execute those thoughts into actions. Sometimes, we need to rethink and revise our plans. If God has given us the direction, and we are slow to move in that direction, as we often do, by allowing other external things to get in our way, God will remove those obstacles so we can hear him and move toward our destiny. I have a friend who is so gifted and who has a couple of business going, but he had felt that he still needed a job. His wife was working outside the home and had been the sole financial support for the family as well as attending school herself. They are always hoping to improve their businesses so they won't have to depend on a job. God said lean on me and I will supply your needs. His wife has recently lost her job due to the economic climate and downsizing. She told her husband she was relieved to be out of that stressful situation as she felt it was going to happen. Now they are free to focus on their businesses and I know they will be successful because it has already been ordained. They are very positive people radiating that "Happy Energy", as we discussed on today's show. We are always talking about having a positive mindset. This is the foundation for all other aspects in our lives including business, personal relationships. What we put out into the Universe is what will be returned to us. In other words, we reap what we sow. If we keep this principal in mind and follow our predetermined path, meaning we take the necessary steps, we will be successful. My prayer is that all I am led to do benefits somebody, then it is not in in vain. Ask God for what you want and He will guide your steps as long as you move your feet.

Change

I wonder why we are as a species are so afraid of change. I know that change is not always a positive thing in our eyes, but I think we should strive to change our point of view. It has been my experience that each time a change has occurred in my life, it has actually been a very good thing. I guess today's Blogtalk show got me to thinking about this because the show did not go the way I had planned it but I think it still came out alright in the end, and those who listen to the archived show will have the benefit of something extra since Bruce Black was gracious enough to allow me to interview him after the hour was up. (I won't mention that it was mostly due to his being late. LOL) I hope you'll take a listen here. As I said I think it came out ok and I'd love to get your opinion. Leave a comment on the show page. Thanks. The show wasn't about change actually it was to showcase the talent of some of my network members (visit the network here) Jo Tongo from Camaroon west Africa, who currently resides in France. (how about that, isn't the Internet wonderful?), Bruce Black and Glenn Gordon. In the end Glenn didn't make the show at all and I only hope he's alright since I have still not been able to reach him. He's a very talented Brother and I hope to get him rescheduled soon. Getting back to my thoughts, Yes change can be a good thing and should never be feared. I won't say that I welcome change but I don't fear it either. I like to try new things. When I do I keep hold of the things I enjoy and let the others die a natural death. If I hadn't embraced change I wouldn't be in this positive place in my life. My good friend, Sylver has challenged me to come out of my comfort zone once again. So I will accept this newest challenge because I know nothing beats a failure but a try (more on this new challenge later). I trust God to guide my steps and I am not afraid to move my feet. God has provided us with this big old universe and I feel obliged to explore and conquer as much of it as I can while I am able, so Change...bring it on. I'm ready.

More Inspiration

Helping Myself by Helping Others

I just finished listening to the playback of my blogtalk show. I was discussing branding, what it means and ways to do it. I didn't have many listeners and there were only a couple of peple in the chat room but I enjoyed doing this one. I wasn't sure I gave much information but I did get some positive feedback. A couple of people had been invited to callin and share their advice and products. I'm sure they had good reasons for not showing upand I am sorry that they missed an opportunity to get their brands out there. At any rate, my co host Ms Felecia brought up the point that she would be interested in learning more about domain names and building your own websites and things of that nature. So I think I am going to work on a video in which I talk about these topics and give out some resources that are inexpensive, some of them free or near free, to help you get your brand out. I will post more about it later. Stay tuned, I don't want you to miss a beat.

I 've Come A Long Way

This has been an amazing journey, from that first post until today. I am so thankful I followed my path because it has been so rewarding for me. I have met some truly wonderful people. It is true that if you help others you too will be rewarded. I was taught that you must donate of your self to serve others and continue your own blessings. I have always had success when I follow my intuition and it is leading me to start a project that will benefit young ladies in the process of becoming young women. I would welcome an introduction to others who want to make a difference in the lives of young females who maybe under hardship currently. Three Steps to Success

I don't know who hasn't wished there were a sure fired plan to follow to success, myself included. I have read all kinds of articles, blogs, ebooks. magazine articles etc. None of them really spoke to until I read a simple email from one of the people of the world I admire. I do not think there is anyone who has not heard of Tyler Perry, at this point in time. I have followed his career closely since I saw his first play at Constitution Hall. I am a subscriber to his email blog. I love the style of it, just like having a conversation with a good friend. I get encouragement from all of them I read, but the one I received today struck such a cord in me. It was just the perfect reminder. I'd like to share some of it with you. "I don't think I told you about this. When I was on the stand for that trial last month my lawyer, Veronica Lewis of Dallas, asked me a question that I had never thought about. She asked me, "Where do my Christian messages come from in my work?" I sat on the stand and I thought about that and it hit me. I have spoken many times about the kind of man that my father was, and don't get me wrong I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I can't tell you how I got to my answer without explaining this to you. When I was very young, about 5 or 6 years old, Monday through Thursday was pretty uneventful in my house most of the time. But on Friday and Saturday he would go out and get drunk and come home and all hell would break loose. And as a little boy I would feel so helpless watching this man beat my mother. I would sit in the corner covering my ears wanting the madness to stop. Most times, after it was over, I would lay next to her trying to comfort her as we would both cry ourselves to sleep.... that's still hard to think about. Anyway, early Sunday morning she would wake me up and take me to church. Most of the time it would just be the two of us. We'd get there and my uncle, Rev. D. J. Campbell, would be up preaching. I would look over the pews and see my mother smiling. Then she would sing in the choir and she would be happy. When she smiled I smiled wider, when she laughed I laughed harder, when she sang I sang louder. So, when my lawyer asked me that question all I could say was, "I wanted to know the God that made my mother smile.” I wanted to know this Jesus that my uncle preached about. I get a chill even thinking about it now. My uncle would preach and say things like, "Pray, and if you have faith and believe, God will do it for you. Just believe." Now, while most of the kids my age were playing or asleep, I was listening. You would be surprised what a 6-year-old will listen to. Even though I was very young, I heard that. Not only did I hear it, I wanted to see for myself. So, I put this "pray, believe, and have faith" thing to the test. Now at that age, I had a vivid imagination and I thought that the people on the TV were little people trapped inside the TV, and that if I could get inside of it, I could take them out and have my own little family that would talk to me and that I could love and take care of. I wouldn't dare go behind that old floor model color Zenith and unscrew something--I would have been murdered for sure...LOL. But, I remembered my uncle's words and I prayed and asked God to send me some little people to take care of. Now this sounds like an impossible prayer for God to answer, but one day while I was at school, a lady who lived across the street was moving away and she had asked my mother if she could leave something for me. My mother said yes and when I got home there it was, a three-story bamboo house with two living creatures that spoke to me! They said, "Hello!" There were two parakeets. I thought God had answered my prayer. Listen to me when I tell you, something got born in me that day. I had prayed, believed, and had faith and it had come to pass. From that day to this one it is that process that I have used to see all my dreams come true. Pray, believe, and have faith. It started with something as simple and small as two parakeets for me. If you start believing for little things, it will allow you to grow into believing for all things. That's the way to see all your dreams come true. If you've been trying the same thing over and over and aren't getting any results then how about in 2009 trying something else? It doesn't matter if a million people tell you what you can't do, or if ten million tell you no. If you get one yes from God that's all you need. This year PRAY, BELIEVE,and have FAITH for your one YES! God bless you today. Tyler P." Is this not a powerful re-enforcer of what we already know? These steps have worked for me all my life, Obviously they work for Brother Perry. I don't know about you, but I am using these three steps this year and beyond..

Hello, My name is Diana. I am 50 years old. I have been a nurse for for the past 32 years. I love what I do. It is very rewarding to me that I have made a difference in so many people's lives. I am also a mother and a grandmother and my family is very important to me. I am the eldest of 5 children born to my parents who had been together for over 48 years until my Dad's death 2 years ago. Being the eldest kid has worked in my favor. It has developed me into a go getter, a trailblazer, if you will. I have had to work hard for everything I have accomplished on my own, not that my parents didn't want to assist me, because they did,and of course I have always had their love and support, but they could not help me financially because we weren't well off and they had 4 other kids to raise. I am not afraid to work hard and get my hands dirty to obtain what I want from life. Since I reached the age of 3o something, I have been attempting to build my own wealth because I do not want to be dependent on a J-O-B very much longer. I want to financially independent, so I got involved with MLMs. I have been with various groups and I have failed more often then I care to admit, but now I think I figured it out. I have teamed up with some great companies who offer real training and assistance. And I am now beginning to reap the fruits of my labor. I enjoy meeting people and I enjoy helping people. That's one reason I became a nurse and I have had such a full- filling career in the nursing profession, but, now I am ready to help people in a different way. I want to assist as many people as I can to increase their income and live the life they desire and deserve to live. Gone forever (I hope) is the belief that all our lives consist of is working for someone else for 40 or 50 years and then retiring into obscurity.. Now that I'm 50 I feel my life is just beginning. I have given to society, to my family, to my friends and to my patients and now I am giving to myself. What am I giving to myself? I giving myself time and money to live the life I want. I am still young, still vibrant and full of energy, desire and passion for life. I do not need to be rich but I don't want to worry about having enough money either. So I have signed on to this new way of doing business, this Web 2.0 as it is recently being referred to. I joined the social networking phenomenon, and I love it. For me it is the best of both worlds. I get to socialize with a all types of people from all over the world, helping them in whatever way I can, making some great contacts and making money in addition to all that.
